The weather is awful here this week. When is spring coming? Or at least a forty degree day with some warm sunshine? Hmmm? Anyone? That's what I thought.
So I sent the hubby to walmart for some specific items. Those being: dog food, replacement toothbrush, soy milk, and soy yogurt from another grocery store and if he got the movie "Across the Universe" to also get bacon and bread since we wouldn't be able to eat breakfast out this weekend in exchange for the movie.
He spent $68.40. $25.00 was for dog food and $10.00 for dog bones. $20.00 was for the movie (which by the way is in no way in trouble for its part in using up a large part of our grocery budget, because it was fantastic.) So $33 of our grocery money was used, $20 of it on a movie and he didn't even get the toothbrush or the yogurt or the bacon or bread.
We are only at $91.91 so far with two and a half weeks to go which is decent. I would actually be very excited if $20 of that wasn't on something we cannot eat. Especially when I do need a new toothbrush. So $208.09 is left in the grocery budget for the next two and a half weeks. I guess if I look at it that way then its a really good thing except we are pretty short on some supplies and it may cost a hundred dollars the next time I go. I also still have $40.00 toward the dog budget for the month with two and a half weeks left to go which seems good too. I am also going to pay attention to how long the dog food lasts so I can budget for it better.
Maybe I'm just pissy because I didn't get my soy yogurt.
